4 free agents who the Cardinals could move on from in 2022

When the Cards inked wide receiver A.J. Green to a one-year contract back in March, the addition was treated with lukewarm enthusiasm. After all, the 33-year-old had not performed at a Pro Bowl-level in quite some time.
As it turned out, what Green really needed was a fresh start. The longtime Cincinnati Bengals wideout has been a pleasant surprise for the Arizona offense, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that Green will return to the Redbirds in 2022.
One obstacle standing in the way of Green remaining in the desert is Christian Kirk, a much younger Cardinals receiver who will also be entering free agency. Keim may not have the funds to re-sign both pass-catchers, and it stands to reason that the 25-year-old Kirk will be a priority.
