Devon Kennard – Outside Linebacker

Devon Kennard has been overpaid since March of 2020, when Steve Keim handed the outside linebacker a $20 million contract. The Cardinals have gotten minimal payback from that deal, so it would not be surprising if the 30-year-old is given his pink slip this offseason.

Moving on from Kennard will save Arizona roughly $4.8 million against the cap. In 28 appearances (seven starts) for “Big Red”, the 6-foot-3, 256-pounder has tallied just 43 tackles and three sacks.

The Cards could look a lot different at the outside linebacker position in 2022. Besides Kennard’s uncertain status, fellow edge-rushers Chandler Jones and Dennis Gardeck are also unrestricted free agents.
