Kurt Warner – QB (2005)

The Cardinals signed Warner in 2005 and he posted a 2-8 record that season with an 11-9 touchdown to interception ratio. The Cardinals were so impressed with Kurt Warner they drafted Matt Leinart the following season, and Warner responded with a 1-4 record in five starts.

His final three seasons could not have been more different. He recorded a 24-18 record, throwing for 83 touchdowns and 49 interceptions.

Oh, and he led the Cardinals to their first Super Bowl appearance, where they came within 35 seconds of beating the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was a game Warner led them back into, but the defense couldn’t hold.

Warner played one more year with the team, and while he still looked like a quarterback in his prime, even at 38, he retired and went into broadcasting. Warner made a career of defying the odds, and he did so not just as a member of the then-St. Louis Rams, but also as a member of the Cardinals.
