Maxx Williams – TE

Okay, Maxx Williams played in just five games in 2021. But he was well on his way to a career year before a torn ACL ended his season. Had Williams stayed healthy, the Cardinals still may have gone after Zach Ertz to augment their passing game. However, Williams still would have shown he’s more than just a blocking tight end.

While he’s an unrestricted free agent who may not return, the Cardinals need to try and keep him around. Since he played in five games, they can sign him to a smaller, one-year deal and go from there. They just can’t pass on a guy who caught 16 of 17 targets in 2021, and he more than doubled his former career-best yards per game.

Even if Williams’ performance was a fluke, the Cardinals still need to find a way to keep him. At the absolute least, he’s way too valuable of a run blocker.
