Despite the recent frustrations between Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals, the quarterback isn’t expected to be traded this year.

Following his third season with the franchise, the relationship between quarterback Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals has seemed to take a turn in the wrong direction.

It all began earlier this month when Murray scrapped any images related to the Cardinals on his personal Instagram account and he unfollowed the team’s official Instagram account.

Many brushed this aside as nothing to worry about. But a recent report from ESPN’s Chris Mortensen about Murray’s lack of maturity and him apparently thinking Arizona made him out to be a scapegoat last season certainly raised some eyebrows.

Despite the amount of uncertainty that seems to exist about Murray‘s future with the Cardinals now, the team is not expected to move on from him anytime soon.

A high-profile agent familiar with the NFL quarterback market recently spoke to FanSided’s Matt Lombardo and stated that the Arizona signal-caller is “going nowhere.” The agent also compared Murray’s current situation to the drama that Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson created last year when there were rumors about his desire to be traded.

In addition to the comments from the agent, Lombardo also spoke to multiple league sources who shared the belief that whatever Murray is doing is just an attempt to get a lucrative extension before next season.

If a new deal is what the Cardinals quarterback is trying to get, he’s definitely not going about it the right way.

Arizona has the majority of the leverage in this situation and Murray doing things that draw negative attention to himself and the organization, like unfollowing the team on Instagram, is not going to cause the franchise to throw a bunch of cash at him.

Murry probably didn’t intend for things to get a bit out of hand as they have recently. But he has to remember that he’s the one who started all of the recent speculation about his future in Arizona with the decisions he made with his Instagram account.

It might have looked like something silly at first, and some might still view it that way, but we now know that things aren’t as optimistic in the desert as some might have believed after the Cardinals’ 2021 season came to a close.
