Pros and cons to a Kyler Murray extension from the Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals have several options regarding quarterback Kyler Murray and his future with the franchise.
After an Instagram scrub earlier this offseason, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, at least for the time being, seems to be in the driver’s seat at quarterback. Not that a trade won’t occur: Just look at how quickly things deteriorated between Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns even before the Deshaun Watson trade.
So anything can happen. But what if the Cardinals signed Murray to a contract extension through 2027 as they did with Kliff Kingsbury and Steve Keim?
Murray can become the Cardinals’ first longtime fixture at quarterback for the first time in forever. Long-term fixture under age 30, that is. But, Murray, even heading into Year 4, remains an unknown commodity.
Yeah, he’s a two-time Pro Bowl quarterback who also won Rookie of the Year honors. Murray has given a downtrodden franchise like the Cardinals hope and he was a major upgrade over major draft bust Josh Rosen.
