The three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver is making it known that he’d like to continue his NFL career with the Arizona Cardinals.

Last Thursday night, the Arizona Cardinals added Marquise “Hollywood” Brown to the roster. Don’t look now, but there’s yet another veteran wide receiver who would like to see what he can do in Kliff Kingsbury’s “Air Raid” offense.

Dez Bryant, a three-time Pro Bowler who spent most of his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys, is eyeing a comeback. The 33-year-old recently revealed to TMZ Sports that the Cardinals would be his preferred destination if he’s granted an opportunity to play again.

"“Kyler, the coach, I love the swagger over there. I just love the guys, especially DeAndre Hopkins, that’s my boy. We’re real close.”"

Could the Cards have any interest in acquiring an outspoken player like Bryant? Does the squad even have the space for another wideout in the locker room?

Dez Bryant would be an interesting addition to the Arizona Cardinals offense

Following the acquisition of Brown, it would be fair to proclaim that the Cardinals have one of the most intriguing wide receiver rooms in the league. The 24-year-old joins a contingent that includes Hopkins, A.J. Green, Rondale Moore, and Antoine Wesley. There will be only so many receptions to go around, so Bryant would have to accept what could be a very limited role in the desert.

According to the TMZ Sports report, Bryant would gladly put his ego aside in order to play for Kingsbury. The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder said that he would accept backup status and could serve as both a locker room guy and mentor for Arizona’s younger pass-catchers.

Bryant last performed as a professional back in 2020, when he appeared in six games for the Baltimore Ravens. The former first-round pick of the Cowboys was targeted 11 times and managed to haul in six of those passes for 47 yards and two touchdowns.

With a very small amount of salary-cap space to work with, the Cards would likely sign Bryant for no more than the veteran minimum. Perhaps one of those one-year “prove-it” contracts that have worked so well for Keim in the past will be offered to Bryant.
