Cornerbacks (6)

Byron Murphy, Antonio Hamilton, Marco Wilson, Jeff Gladney, Christian Matthew, Jace Whittaker

Beyond Murphy, this position group is a mixed bag. And like the defensive line, there is a strong likelihood the Cardinals go out and snag a corner perhaps even re-signing Robert Alford if he is available.

The CB2 spot is up for grabs, with Hamilton, Wilson, and Gladney probably set to enter training camp in a three-way position battle to take it. Wilson is the favorite, given his draft status and experience in the lineup. However, his production impressed no one last season, so if Hamilton or Gladney outperform him, he could wind up as the CB4.

Gladney is the wild card. A former first-round pick, disciplinary issues plagued his career. And like Wilson, his rookie season in 2020 was beyond unimpressive.

While he is a long shot, Christian Matthew has a chance to come in and take the CB2 spot in the current atmosphere if he has a strong camp. But he is on the outside looking in. Whittaker would also need an amazing training camp to warrant consideration.
