The 15th-best Arizona Cardinals draft pick ever: Jim Bakken

Wisconsin. 32. Pick Analysis. Kicker. JimBakken. 15. player. Stats

While technically a seventh-round pick of the Los Angeles Rams in 1962, he didn’t make the team and signed with the Cardinals when they were in St. Louis.

Call this an honorable mention. The fact that he spent his entire career with the Cardinals is one of the reasons he makes the list.

Another reason, and perhaps the biggest one, is that Bakken is the all-time leading scorer in Cardinals history, with over 1300 points. A list like this can’t include the team’s top scorer.

Bakken also never missed a game from 1963 to 1978, when he would retire. So that’s 15 years straight of handling punting and kicking duties.

Bakken converted 63.1% of his field goals and accumulated many awards in his career.

Bakken is one of the best players the Cardinals have ever had. He currently resides in his hometown of Madison, Wisconsin. He is 81 years old.
