By now, everyone knows that the best red zone rushing scorer in the league is James Conner. The Cardinals sure took advantage of this surprise in 2021, and Conner nearly set the franchise record for total touchdowns and rushing touchdowns in the same season.

Conner missed two games in the middle of the Arizona Cardinals’ freefall last season. First was the game against the Indianapolis Colts on Christmas, and then the week after in the upset win over the Dallas Cowboys.

In that span of games, the Cardinals combined for 260 rushing yards and only one rushing touchdown. While that’s not the worst way to go when your top running back is out, the fact they only scored one time on the ground hurt their chances- especially against Indianapolis.

Conner’s ability to find paydirt is one of the most crucial parts of the Cardinals offense. So let’s hope he stays healthy for all 17 games this year.
