5 players the Arizona Cardinals cannot live without in 2022
The Arizona Cardinals’ secondary wasn’t always on top of their game last year.
That was mainly due to time missed by a handful of players. First, Byron Murphy missed the Week 4 game over the 49ers. Given his status heading into the 2021 season, Robert Alford did well, but he also went down for a few games.
That meant Marco Wilson got the “Byron Murphy” treatment ( referring to how he had to start for Patrick Peterson in 2019 due to a suspension). Luckily, the safety spot was held down by Budda Baker and Jalen Thompson.
The lack of depth at the cornerback position is evident, and hopefully, it gets addressed before the season begins. Otherwise, inexperienced corners will need to suit up (the Breon Borders of the world) and most likely struggle with the second-toughest schedule in the NFL.
