The Arizona Cardinals’ season could be decided very early into the 2022 NFL Season.

After having the NFC West title in their hands slip away with a painful late-season slide, the Arizona Cardinals are going to know the fate of their season just a few weeks into it.

So what’s the most important matchup for the Arizona Cardinals in the 2022 season?

This Week 3 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams will decide the fate of the Cardinals season for one big reason. This will determine whose hands the NFC West will be carried in. Last year, these two teams traded blowout wins in the regular season, and the Cardinals ultimately got embarrassed in the wild-card round.

One would think that the Rams not having a draft pick until the third round would provide some ground to catch up for the Cardinals, but that’s not exactly true.

L.A. Rams got richer while the Arizona Cardinals made pennies on the dollar

Comparing these two rosters to last year, the Rams improved significantly through free agency with the insane additions of Bobby Wagner and Allen Robinson. On top of that, a handful of free agents are back (Aaron Donald, it’s okay to retire early).

Meanwhile, the Cardinals traded their first-round pick for a wide receiver who was similar to Christian Kirk in terms of production, and Marquise Brown will also have the task of replacing DeAndre Hopkins for six weeks.

It’s a challenging situation to be in, but it definitely has to be a brighter outlook for Brown as he changes teams for the first time in his NFL career.  Let’s hope for a much closer game as the Cardinals take on the Rams at home.
