The Second Half: Mental mistakes continue

The second half got off to a promising start with a long bomb to A.J. Green on a dagger for 40-yards. The big play was immediately followed up by a 34-yard Rondale Moore touchdown to give Arizona the lead once again. Cardinals 21-17.

After the defense forced the Chiefs to punt, Murray started off in a tough spot on his own 5-yard line. Trying to fit one into a tight window to rookie Trey McBride, Murray gave up another interception to Justin Reid that allowed Mecole Hardman a chance to run it in for six. Chiefs 24-21.

On the next drive, Murray used his arm and legs effectively moving down the field quickly to score once again with his legs. Cardinals 28-21.

A 75-yard bomb to Hardman seconds later gave the lead back to the visitors. Chiefs 31-28.

Although there was promise on the next offensive outing, Murray took the wrong read yet again and threw his third interception of the opening week matchup early in the 4th quarter. (I told you I am really bad at this game).

The Chiefs were only able to take advantage of a field goal, however, making the score well within reach for an Arizona comeback. Chiefs 34-28.

Unfortunately, there was no comeback in this game. Forced to punt, the Cards never got the chance to hold the ball again as the Chiefs successfully milked the rest of the clock.

So the good guys did not come away with the win this time. Below, there is a look at some of the key offensive scores.

  • Zach Ertz  6 rec, 105 yds
