The Arizona Cardinals are once again hosting the Super Bowl in their home stadium.
This is the fourth time the city has gotten the honor, having previously hosted Super Bowls XXX, XLII, and XLIX. The latter two are some of the most memorable Super Bowls of all time, and Super Bowl LVII will hopefully meet the bar.
That’s what the Arizona Cardinals are trying to accomplish- finishing the job that they came within 2:37 of doing so in 2008. Since the three reasons why the Cardinals wouldn’t win Super Bowl LVII were already published, consider this the counterargument to that.
So what do the Arizona Cardinals have in their arsenal to have their first party with the Lombardi? Let’s get right into it:
Defense may win championships, but the Arizona Cardinals have the offense to get them there.
Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins, Zach Ertz, and a reborn James Conner; That is an offense-lovers dream. Murray has done something that’s been very hard to do for the team, and that is making the team relevant.
Now that could easily be relevant for all the wrong reasons, but quarterbacks succeeding in Arizona hasn’t been a regular thing. They say that the third time’s the charm, which was true for Murray getting the team to the playoffs.
Can his fourth NFL season bring him a ring? Murray is the second-most accurate NFL quarterback from 2021, just a smidge behind Cincinnatti Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. But, if Burrow can make it to the biggest stage with a below-average offensive line, so can Murray.
If Marquise Brown can become the Arizona Cardinals version of Jamarr Chase, then look out.
