The Arizona Cardinals’ “first-round pick,” Marquise Brown, didn’t deliver great news to the fans.
After learning about Kyler Murray’s ridiculous contract stipulation, the last thing Arizona Cardinals fans suspected was bad news about Marquise “Hollywood” Brown. But, on the very first day of training camp, Brown was put on the “Non-Football Injury list” with a hamstring injury.
It’s not worth speculating about an injury, as details will hopefully come out about the severity of it all. But this isn’t a great way to start training camp. Isn’t it ironic that today (the first day of training camp) and the first day of mandatory minicamp began with bad news (Rodney Hudson drama)?
There’s a lot of talent behind him on the roster, but there’s also the fact that the Arizona Cardinals spent a first-round pick on Brown. Naturally, fans of the Arizona Cardinals weren’t pleased on Twitter. Don’t believe me? Take a look for yourself.
The Arizona Cardinals are not off to a great start in the 2022 preseason
This is not the best news the Cardinals wanted, nor did Brown. But if it keeps him healthy and avoids missing time like DeAndre Hopkins did last season, then so be it. But wouldn’t it be nice if the Arizona Cardinals could have a non-drama-filled offseason for once?
Maybe that comes with winning a championship. But, who knows, stability in this franchise is hard to come by.
Here’s to Brown getting healthy and healthy fast. Maybe It’s an unorthodox way to get reps to the guys lower on the depth chart while avoiding some wear and tear on Brown’s body.
It’s time to trust the Cardinals’ training staff to make him right again, and now the only thing we can do is wait.
