Arizona Cardinals special teams MVP: WR/PR Greg Dortch

The Arizona Cardinals special teams weren’t off to a great start in the first half. Matt Prater missed two extra points, and overall the entire unit stunk things up in the first half.

That was until Greg Dortch lit the torch and ran back a punt for 55 yards in the third quarter, something that hasn’t been done by any Cardinal (regardless of season) in a very long time. That play alone is good enough to give him the special teams crown for a week.

It will be even more difficult next week against the Ravens as head coach John Harbaugh came up through the league as a special teams coach, so there may not be a ton of fireworks from Dortch and the Cardinals on Sunday Night Football.

Until then, we’ll enjoy the replays of the return. Bring on the Ravens!
