Markus Golden – Outside Linebacker

Arizona has gotten very little pass-rush off of the edge thus far this fall. Keim smartly refrained from inking the aging Chandler Jones to a lucrative new contract, but his backup plan for replacing the four-time Pro Bowler was hardly a good one.

Keim miscalculated when he allowed himself to believe that Markus Golden still had some productive football left in him. In his 10 appearances (eight starts) this year, the 31-year-old has been credited with just 1.5 sacks for an Arizona Cardinals squad that was hoping for more.

Golden has a cap hit of $4.3 million in ’22, money that would’ve been better spent elsewhere. Free-agent options such as Za’Darius Smith, Von Miller and Jerry Hughes were available during the offseason, but the Cards elected to roll with Golden instead.
