Fans of the Arizona Cardinals are rightfully looking toward 2023, but that doesn’t mean the season is over, technically. Let’s check out the Week 12 tilt.

The Arizona Cardinals are 4-7, and conventional wisdom states they are eliminated from playoff contention. But head coach Kliff Kingsbury might want to use these last six games to show he’s worthy of sticking around and general manager Steve Keim would like to see some positive returns on the roster he created.

But will it be enough? Despite signing extensions, it doesn’t compel Keim and Kingsbury to stick around, especially if their team fumbles through these final six contests. So will the Cardinals soar or fall continue to falter this week? Let’s talk about it.

Arizona Cardinals vs. Chargers – Odds

Per Fan Duel, the Cardinals are +3 underdogs at home against the Chargers. The Over/Under sits at 48.5, and the Cardinals moneyline is +146. The Chargers moneyline is -174.

Arizona Cardinals vs. Chargers – Prediction

We got two teams facing a strong sense of urgency. They also have starting quarterbacks who have taken massive steps back this season. That said, this one is going to be a Battle of the Underachievers.

But with the potential return of Marquise Brown to the lineup to pair with DeAndre Hopkins, plus all signs indicating quarterback Kyler Murray returns, the Cardinals could sneak up on the Chargers in this one.

They also seemed to have given up in their Monday night outing against the San Francisco 49ers, so you can also expect the Cardinals will be looking to prove they are better than what they were during that 38-10 loss. That said, I’m going with the upset in this one.

The Cardinals take their Week 12 affair by a score of 28-24, with the Chargers actually scoring a late touchdown to bring them within four points. This will give Kliff some space to work with here while things may look a little bleaker for his sideline counterpart in Brandon Staley.
