Kurt Warner – Quarterback

When Kurt Warner signed a free-agent contract with the Arizona Cardinals back in 2005, the two-time NFL MVP was being looked at as a “has-been”. The undrafted quarterback had led the St. Louis Rams to a Super Bowl championship six years earlier, but Warner was actually benched during his one and only season with the New York Giants in 2004.

In 2008, Warner beat out highly-touted youngster Matt Leinart and led the Cinderella Cardinals to an appearance in Super Bowl XLIII. Unfortunately, the squad lost a 27-23 heartbreaker to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the final moments of a highly-entertaining matchup.

Warner would play one more year with Arizona in 2009, leading the club to a scintillating 51-45 postseason victory over Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in January of 2010. The former Northern Iowa University product suffered a concussion during a 45-14 loss to the New Orleans Saints one week later in what would be his final NFL appearance.
