No one envisions the Arizona Cardinals being a legitimate threat in 2026, as evidenced by their NFL-low expected win total (3.5). That doesn't mean they can't be a profitable fantasy football offense; we saw them do it.
Jacoby Brissett was a top-10 quarterback by total scoring and average fantasy points per game for roughly three months last year. The veteran's 12-game stint as the starter coincided with Michael Wilson being one of the most productive wide receivers in the league. Star tight end Trey McBride was also the top player at his position en route to an All-Pro nod.
There's a lot to like about the Cardinals' skill group between McBride, Wilson and third-year pro Marvin Harrison Jr. Their revamped backfield, headlined by this year's No. 3 overall draft pick, running back Jeremiyah Love, is also interesting. How it all coalesces in Mike LaFleur's first season as head coach could be exciting to see.
Love is jostling with a trio of veteran tailbacks, Tyler Allgeier, James Conner and Trey Benson, for opportunities. Harrison and Wilson are competing for the No. 1 receiver spot. That's all while McBride dominates targets; this is a crowded unit, to put it mildly.
As training camp and the preseason get into full swing, we'll provide the latest updates that every fantasy manager ought to know regarding the Cardinals.
Note: This story will be updated regularly throughout the Arizona Cardinals' training camp and preseason.
Latest fantasy football updates for the Cardinals: News, injuries and position battles
Jeremiyah Love getting reps with the starters, finally -- 8/3
After several days of Tyler Allgeier getting the starting reps, it was Jeremiyah Love who got the first opportunity with the starters. Needless to say, it's about time.
Marvin Harrison Jr. stacking strong practices -- 8/3
"He consistently created separation and made several highlight-reel catches, including an acrobatic sideline grab over rookie corner Will Johnson that drew plenty of praise," per Bo Brack of PHNX.
Those hoping for the Year 3 breakout, who have stuck by Harrison since Day 1, are loving these types of updates. If he continues to show out, Harrison very well could do exactly that and break out.
Trey Benson suffers ill-timed setback -- 8/3
Benson had a "little discomfort" and "flare-up" in his left knee, which he had season-ending surgery on in 2025, per head coach Mike LaFleur.
Talk about brutal timing. Benson was putting himself on the map and boosting his trade value. Hopefully, the Cardinals are just being "very cautious" with him, as LaFleur stated.
Carson Beck showing 'clear improvement' -- 8/3
Per Bo Brack of PHNX, Beck has "delivered multiple NFL caliber completions during practice." It appears he's improving compared to how he started camp. This is worth monitoring as he could wind up getting some starts if the Cardinals struggle, meaning Jacoby Brissett goes to the bench.
Tyler Allgeier is carrying the RB1 load -- 7/30
Allgeier has been the Cardinals' go-to RB thus far. He's "been getting a majority of the carries with the first team, with [Jeremiyah] Love getting the rest" (h/t ESPN's Josh Weinfuss).
It appears that Arizona is making Jeremiyah Love earn his spot atop the depth chart, at least for now. Allgeier is currently the head of a messy, albeit fascinating, running back committee; time will tell whether that holds up.
Trey Benson continues to flash in practice ... padding his trade value? -- 7/30
Per PHNX, Benson continues to make noticeable plays in camp, both with and without the football. His involvement in the offense opens up plays for other playmakers, but he's making a big-enough impact that his highlights are going wild on social media.
In a backfield with James Conner, Jeremiyah Love and the newly-paid Tyler Allgeier, Benson continues to boost his potential trade value. Dynasty owners, hang on tight.
Marvin Harrison Jr. has initial WR1 edge? -- 7/28
It was Harrison as the lone receiver on the field when the Cardinals were deploying 13 personnel (three TEs), via Cardinals beat reporter Darren Urban.
The usage suggests the 2024 No. 4 overall selection is ahead of Wilson in the pecking order — for now. Which of the aforementioned Cardinals wideouts emerges as the preferred option is far from determined. The uncertainty is generously baked into their respective price tags, making them both intriguing WR3/4s, especially Harrison.
Marvin Harrison Jr. avoids injury scare -- 7/28
Harrison checked himself out of practice on Sunday, July 26, though the reason was unclear. Fortunately, all was good a couple of days later. LaFleur revealed it was a cramping issue, per Cardinals beat reporter Darren Urban.
Jeremiyah Love wastes no time turning heads -- 7/28
Love had multiple nice runs, including on his very first snap in pads with the starters. The elusiveness, patience and vision that made him such a highly touted prospect were on display.
Questions aside, Love's ceiling is worth chasing. He has league-winning potential, assuming his average draft position (ADP) doesn't get exorbitant like it can with high-profile rookie backs — cough, Ashton Jeanty, cough.
James Conner remains limited -- 7/28
Conner and the Cardinals are seemingly taking things slowly after his ninth season was cut well short due to a gruesome ankle injury. He still didn't participate in 11-on-11 drills.
Whenever Conner's back in full swing, the bell-cow role he had before getting hurt certainly won't be waiting for him. Love and Allgeier, specifically the former, are the priorities.
Jeremiyah Love and Tyler Allgeier emerge as early RB favorites -- 7/26
Both Love and Allgeier "alternated reps with the first-team offense," per ESPN's Josh Weinfuss.
No surprises here, considering what Arizona invested in them. The situation makes Benson worth monitoring. Not because of his value in the Valley, but in case the front office realizes keeping four RBs on the roster is easier said than done.
Cardinals activate Paris Johnson from PUP list -- 7/25
Arizona removed standout offensive tackle Paris Johnson Jr. from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. His status is quietly vital to the entire operation.
