In all likelihood, Kyler Murray has played his last snaps with the Arizona Cardinals. With the team riding with Jacoby Brissett for the majority of the season, a general manager that didn’t draft him, and a new head coach. It is a cold take to say that the 28-year-old dual-threat quarterback is done.

Murray signed a five-year, $230 million extension back in 2022, and the Cardinals will be seeing the biggest cap hit on that contract if they don’t trade him. Murray is due $52 million in 2026. This could prove to be a burden, as not many teams would want to take on a contract of that kind.

There are plenty of teams in need of a quarterback this offseason. Miami, Indianapolis, New York (Jets), and Las Vegas are a few that come to mind.

Vegas will likely take Fernando Mendoza with the first overall pick, but the other teams mentioned are up in the air in terms of what they plan on doing.

Indianapolis needs to figure out what Daniel Jones’ long-term plans are, and that is the same with Miami’s Tua Tagovailoa.

However, one team has entered the Kyler Murray sweepstakes, and it has been proven with the use of betting odds.

Minnesota Vikings Could Make Move For Kyler Murray

We’ve seen year one of J.J. McCarthy, and let’s just say it was bumpy. In 10 starts, the former tenth overall draft pick in 2024 threw for 1,632 yards with 11 touchdown passes to 12 interceptions.

Players like Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison saw massive declines in production compared to the years prior, and it makes you wonder if the team wants to stick with McCarthy for another year.

According to Kalshi, the Vikings lead betting odds with a 34% chance to trade for Kyler Murray. It really makes you wonder if this is actually a possibility.

What we do know is that we are set up for an eventful offseason.
