It has been nearly six weeks since Kyler Murray last played. The seventh-year quarterback went down in Week 5 with a foot injury, but with the way the offense has looked, aside from the team’s record, it makes sense for Arizona to continue with Jacoby Brissett under center.
It's more of a fact that the offense has looked average under Brissett, while under Murray, it hasn’t been too bright. Experts such as Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano of ESPN believe this could be the last year in Arizona for the 28-year-old dual-threat quarterback, and that he could be dealt during the offseason, with three years remaining on his current five-year, $230.5 million contract.
One source told Adam Schefter that “a separation is imminent.”
However, Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report crafted the idea that the Cleveland Browns could make a move for Murray, and the package he created is shocking…
Arizona Cardinals Receive:
- QB Shedeur Sanders
- 2027 2nd-Round Pick
- 2027 3rd-Round Pick
Cleveland Browns Receive:
- QB Kyler Murray
Kyler Murray needs a fresh start elsewhere, and it is safe to say that Cleveland is in the market for a quarterback. While Dillon Gabriel has been fine, the Browns need a proven quarterback, whether it's out of the draft or via trade/free agency.
The big news out of this package would be Shedeur Sanders getting his long-awaited opportunity at the NFL level. Coming out of college, Sanders was expected to be a first-round pick, but he endured one of the largest draft slides we have ever seen, falling to the fifth round.
Shedeur Sanders, 23, is the son of Deion Sanders, the Hall of Fame cornerback and current Colorado Buffaloes head coach. Since coming out of the draft, he has been waiting for his opportunity to see the field in a regular-season game. Perhaps if this trade were to happen, that would become a reality.
