It is still unclear who will be the signal caller for the Arizona Cardinals' offense in 2026. There have been rumors about Kyler Murray’s future with the team being up in the air, and Jacoby Brissett, in all likelihood, will not be there for the long-term.
First off, Murray suffered a foot injury during Arizona’s Week 5 matchup, forcing him to be placed on injured reserve. When eligible to return, the team opted to roll with Brissett for the remainder of the season, hinting that Murray’s future with the team could be in jeopardy.
Fast forward to the offseason, Jonathan Gannon was fired, and the team brought in Mike LaFleur to be the next head coach. A young offensive mind who had the opportunity to learn behind Sean McVay, LaFleur will be able to work with a plethora of talent.
But for that to happen, the Cardinals need to determine who will be their next quarterback. While not the number one fit, CBS Sports linked one AFC South quarterback to Arizona as a secondary option.

CBS Sports Sees Cardinals As Suitor For Daniel Jones
Daniel Jones was on a heater with the Indianapolis Colts before tearing his achilles in Week 14 against the Jacksonville Jagurars. In 13 games, Jones threw for 3,101 yards and 19 touchdowns to only eight interceptions.
CBS Sports expects the Colts to “figure something out” with Daniel Jones, but obviousy, it is not a guarantee. If they do decide to let him walk, Arizona should be all in on the 28-year-old quarterback.
With three great pass catchers in Trey McBride, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Michael Wilson, Jones would thrive. Especially with Mike LaFleur pushing the buttons.
If the Cardinals do decide to trade Murray, it would be wise to sign Jones to a one or two year deal as a fall back. Drafting a quarterback would not be ideal, as this year’s class ism’t as strong as people thought.
