Cardinals Could Quietly Benefit From Reunion With Former Second-Round Pick

Would be exceptional depth if the Cardinals choose to sign him.

Despite a three-win 2025 season, the Arizona Cardinals demonstrated what it takes to have a solid passing offense. Headlined by Trey McBride's performance, who led all tight ends in receiving yards, and by wide receivers Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson, gave fans hope for the future.

McBride finished with 1,239 yards and 11 touchdowns, and Michael Wilson eclipsed 1,000 yards for the first time in his career. Marvin Harrison Jr. missed five games, but his potential is there.

The hiring of Mike LaFleur will hopefully unleash the talent of all three of these guys, but to take it to the next level.

While the Cardinals have talent in their pass-catchers, they lack significant depth at the position. Filtering different guys in and out of the No. 3 wide receiver position didn’t cut it, and it proved to be a massive weakness. Arizona would benefit from adding one guy in particular, and it would be a bittersweet reunion.

Cardinals Should Bring Back WR Christian Kirk

In his first year with the Texans, Kirk started in three of the 13 games he played. He logged 239 receiving yards on 28 catches. A massive decline in production compared to his 2022 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he eclipsed 1,000 yards for the one and only time in his career.

The Cardinals selected Kirk with the No. 47 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. He played four seasons with them and tallied nearly 3,000 receiving yards with 17 touchdowns.

Coming off a down year, Kirk’s market value sits at only $5 million per season, which is more than affordable for Monti Ossenfort and company.

The Cardinals should really consider bringing back Kirk, as he will fill that wide receiver No. 3 role perfectly.
