The Cardinals may need a new quarterback this offseason, as all signs point to Kyler Murray being out of the team’s long-term plans.

There are plenty of options available on the open market, such as Daniel Jones or Malik Willis, who seem poised to earn lucrative contracts this March because of their performances. Despite that, it would be more beneficial for Arizona to select its quarterback of the future in the NFL Draft. Holders of the No. 3 overall pick, there are so many paths the Cardinals can take to better their roster with that selection.

With Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza seeming like the surefire No. 1 overall pick in the draft, held by the Las Vegas Raiders. It seems more likely that Arizona will have to wait to find its guy, considering the recent news that broke on live television.

Oregon QB Dante Moore announces return to college live on SportsCenter

Yes, Dante Moore officially announced his decision to opt into his junior year at the University of Oregon, forgoing the 2026 NFL Draft. He made his decision live on SportsCenter at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time.

While it wasn’t necessarily going to be the Arizona Cardinals selecting Moore, it does throw off the plans of the New York Jets, who hold onto the No. 2 overall pick.

Back to the Cardinals' draft plans, they have limitless options for what they can do. We’ve personally flirted with them, possibly taking Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, who placed third in Heisman voting behind Mendoza, and Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia.

The Cardinals could also pick one of the three different Ohio State Buckeyes projected to go in the top three. We are talking about linebacker Arvell Reese, safety Caleb Downs, or wide receiver Carnell Tate. The team already has Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson, so Tate might be off the table, but the need for defense is evident after the way the unit performed in 205.

But the big news is that Dante Moore is officially returning to college, and the door is officially open for anything to happen in April’s draft.
