Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort is on site in Eugene, Oregon, for the Big Ten conference matchup between the Minnesota Gophers and the No. 8-ranked Oregon Ducks.
The Ducks harbor a lot of talent set to depart for the 2026 NFL Draft this upcoming April, including quarterback Dante Moore, who ranks as the #13 prospect on Pro Football Focus’ (PFF) big board, and he may be on Ossenfort’s radar amid all the rumors surrounding Kyler Murray.
Many executives and analysts across the league believe that 2025 will be the final year in Arizona for Murray. The 28-year-old dual-threat quarterback has been out with a foot injury since Week 5, and the offense has looked much better under backup Jacoby Brissett.
Experts such as Jeremy Fowler have already listed potential trade destinations for Murray, including the Browns, Jets, and Dolphins.
Oregon also has PFF’s No. 1-ranked tight end in Kenyon Sadiq, who could serve as another pass catcher in head coach Jonathan Gannon’s offense. The Cardinals already have one of the best tight ends in the league in Trey McBride, and we’ve seen a lot of teams run two tight-end offenses. Take the Chicago Bears, for example, as they have Cole Kmet and Colston Loveland.
While Dante Moore is leaning toward a return to Oregon for one more year, Ossenfort could be keeping tabs on him and making a profile for Moore in 2027, when he is expected to declare for the draft.
As for Kenyon Sadiq, he is almost 100% declaring and is expected to be a first-round pick. Perhaps Ossenfort is here for him instead. Imagine an offense with Marvin Harrison Jr., Trey McBride, and Kenyon Sadiq; it would be tough for opposing defenses to stop.
It’s good to know that the Cardinals front office is one step ahead and already making scouting trips. It will be interesting to see what they take away from their trip to the Pacific Northwest.
