Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur is wasting no time assembling his coaching staff despite only being hired less than a week ago. Considering that the Cardinals hired him very late in the cycle, it makes sense that he is in a rush to fill an entire staff.
If the Cardinals' front office wants to sell a product to pending free agents, they must have the staff completely filled as soon as possible.
LaFleur has already found his offensive coordinator, with that being Nathaniel Hackett, poaching him off his brother’s staff in Green Bay. Hackett already has experience as an offensive coordinator and, more importantly, as a former head coach.
According to reports, it seems as if Arizona is in on an NFL journeyman as their quarterbacks coach.

Cardinals Eyeing Matt Schaub As Quarterbacks Coach
Schaub would bring plenty of experience to the table, as he played 16 seasons at the pro level, earning two Pro Bowl selections along the way. In 2009, he threw for 4,770 yards and 29 touchdowns with the Houston Texans.
Schaub, 44, spent time not only with the Houston Texans, but Atlanta Falcons, Oakland Raiders, and Baltimore Ravens.
Whoever Arizona’s quarterback is in 2026 will be gifted with not only a great mind as head coach, but also as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. But also with plenty of weapons to work with. Trey McBride was the best tight end on paper all season long, and he is flanked by two great wide receivers in Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson.
But first, the team needs to hire Schaub.
If LaFleur and Monti Ossenfort can make this happen, then Arizona is quietly becoming a team that is able to sell an actual product to players in free agency.
