At this point, we're completely relying on a breakout season from Arizona Cardinals star receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

After a somewhat disappointing rookie year, the former top-five draft pick has been putting in work over the offseason. Teammates have already been noticing his physical growth. Now, he's showing just how much he's improved on the field.

Picture shows Cardinals receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. has taken a leap this offseason

In many ways, Marvin Harrison Jr. was set up for disappointment in his first season with the Arizona Cardinals. He was hailed as one of the best receiver prospects in the last decade, with a tremendous family legacy to live up to. He entered a barren Cardinals receiving group with the job of transforming the offense immediately.

If that's the standard, very few players would live up to it.

Still, there were some causes for concern in Harrison Jr.'s rookie season. He failed to reach 1,000 receiving yards and posted only two games with at least 100 yards.

Fans were frustrated with the way offensive coordinator Drew Petzing used Harrison Jr., but some of the blame falls on the receiver himself. He only caught 42% of his contested catch opportunities, which is disappointing for a player with his frame.

This offseason, Harrison Jr. has been working hard to correct the weaknesses he showed in 2024. Teammates Darius Robinson and Michael Wilson have already pointed out how Harrison Jr. has put on muscle in recent months. Based on a recent picture from Cardinals OTAs, it looks like his work has led to increased explosiveness.

That looks like a player who's ready to win some contested catches this season.

Sure, it may be a bit too much speculation to predict a breakout season based off of a couple of pictures from OTAs, but all signs are pointing to a big year from Marvin Harrison Jr. Seemingly everyone around the team has been talking about how much he's improved over the offseason. Drew Petzing even praised his star receiver for his versatility and elite skill set.

So, what would a "breakout season" actually look like for Marvin Harrison Jr. in 2025? It's not necessarily about reaching a certain statistical threshold. Instead, Harrison Jr. needs to show that he can be a go-to option for Kyler Murray. If Marvin Harrison Jr. can take the steps that we all expect, the Arizona Cardinals could have one of the most dominant offenses in the NFL.
