TEMPE — The Arizona Cardinals have been without Marvin Harrison Jr. for the past two games, as the second-year wide receiver underwent an appendectomy. However, Harrison was listed as a limited participant in Thursday’s practice, meaning there is potential for him to return this weekend against the Buccaneers.

During his absence, the team saw the emergence of Michael Wilson, a third-year wide receiver out of Stanford. The 25-year-old posted over 300 receiving yards on 25 catches during the two games in which he was tapped in as Arizona’s No. 1 option.

Harrison, 23, hasn’t quite lived up to the “generational talent” claims that were stamped on him when he came out of Ohio State in 2024. While he flashed potential in his rookie season, hauling in 62 catches for 885 yards and eight touchdowns, Harrison hasn’t quite been able to replicate that production in 2025. Thus far, Harrison has caught 34 passes for 525 yards and four touchdowns.

The return of Harrison would finally give Cardinals fans the opportunity to see the trio of tight end Trey McBride, the improving Michael Wilson, and, of course… Marvin Harrison Jr.

To think that Harrison’s status isn’t even the biggest question mark heading into the weekend, as quarterback Baker Mayfield’s status may be in jeopardy. The 30-year-old quarterback suffered a shoulder injury on the final play of the first half in Tampa Bay’s 34–7 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

You have arguably each team’s best offensive player limping into the weekend with respective injuries/illnesses, and we can’t express enough how important both of them are to their team’s

Harrison seems to be improving nicely, and it will be interesting to see when we finally get the update we’ve been waiting for on his status for the weekend. Pending something unexpected, all signs point to the true wide receiver No. 1 returning to the lineup on Sunday.
