Cardinals Should Eye AFC East RB Who May Be Traded This Offseason

Breece Hall would mesh well in Arizona.

If there was one position on the Cardinals roster in 2025 that saw the most change, it would be running back by a mile. The team saw James Conner, Trey Benson, and Bam Knight all hit season-ending injured reserve.

James Conner suffered an ankle injury in Week 3, Trey Benson underwent knee surgery after Week 4, and Bam Knight went down with an ankle injury late in the season. Not saying this alone is the reason Arizona only won three games, but injuries were a problem all year long.

With the dynamic receiving core featuring Trey McBride, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Michael Wilson, Arizona was able to move the ball down the field with the pass, but when that stalled, they didn’t have as good a running game to rely on.

Running back won’t necessarily be a position of need, but definitely be a position of interest for sure. We wouldn’t be surprised if Ossenfort evaluates the draft, free agency, or the trade market for another back to plug into the offense.

If we’re talking trades, then Ossenfort should definitely keep an eye on the developing situation in New York, as the Jets may consider moving on from an offensive cornerstone.

Cardinals should eye Breece Hall in a trade

The New York Jets made massive changes to their defense at the trade deadline this past year, netting three first-round picks and thensome in exchange for cornerback Sauce Gardner and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams.

With the Jets holding the No. 2 overall pick in April’s draft, it would not surprise me if they tried to move more pieces in an effort to gain more draft capital. Running back Breece Hall is a name to watch, and many insiders believed that the team would try to shop him along with Gardner and Williams.

If the Cardinals can swing a move with the Jets, the offense in Arizona is looking a whole lot scarier than it once was. A dynamic receiving trio with one of the better running backs in the league would not be too shabby.
