The Arizona Cardinals' head coaching search is beginning to dwindle as we enter championship weekend. Since the beginning of January, the team has interviewed approximately 15 candidates with a wide variety of different backgrounds.

It is completely up in the air for which direction the team chooses to go in, but one thing we can guarantee you is that whoever they choose to hire will inherit a sleeping giant.

An offense with Marvin Harrison Jr., Michael Wilson, and Trey McBride, along with the No. 3 overall pick in April’s draft, to further add to it is something a first-time head coach should be thrilled to have.

The defense is just as flashy, too, with Walter Nolen III, Cody Simon, Josh Sweat, Will Johnson, and of course, Budda Baker paving the way.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter made an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on Friday, and he dropped some more hints on who Arizona may be eyeing for the head coaching vacancy.

“The Cardinals had in Anthony Campanile, the Jaguars' defensive coordinator, yesterday,” Schefter said. “I still think they’re looking at Raheem Morris, Mike LaFleur, the Rams offensive coordinator who’s involved this weekend.”

So, according to one of the most beloved, trusted sources across the NFL, it seems as if we have a crop of guys that are being heavily looked at by Ossenfort and his team in the front office.

Out of the three candidates that Schefter mentioned, Arizona will get a preview this weekend as Mike LaFleur coaches the Rams offense with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line. And to say he will be doing it in one of the hardest places to play is an understatement.

We are getting closer by the day to a decision at head coach, so hold your breath.
