In a season with not many highlights, one thing the Arizona Cardinals can look at and be happy is the development of third-year wide receiver Michael Wilson.
At age 25, Wilson logged his first 1,000 yard season, and a lot of that success is thanks to extensive reps as the No. 1 option at wide receiver with Marvin Harrison Jr. being absent for fie games.
In those five games, Wilson caught 46 passes for 598 yards and four touchdowns, showing his ability to make contested catches while also running crisp routes.
However, with a crowded receiving corps, Wilson saw his numbers drop with Harrison in the lineup. The two could not seem to complement each other’s play, and it proved to be a huge reason why the Cardinals finished the season at 3–14.
With head coach Jonathan Gannon fired and the team in search for their next leader, it is safe to say that Wilson has one request for the front office.

Cardinals Need To Hire Coach Who Can Utilize Both Receivers At Once
If the Cardinals can find a guy who can get both Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson going in the same game, this offense has the potential to be very good. Couple that with the production of the league’s best tight in Trey McBride, and this offense could be elite.
Candidates that the Cardinals should consider to achieve this are Mike LaFleur (Los Angeles) and Klint Kubiak (Seattle). Both have demonstrated their ability to lead dynamic offenses with incredibly crowded receiving corps.
In L.A., just look what LaFleur managed to do with both Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. Nacua was second in the league in receiving yards while Adams finished with the most receiving touchdowns on the year.
If Ossenfort can get this hire right, you just need to find a quarterback to make this happen. For now, you have the pieces to be good; you just have to capitalize.
