It was already known that the Cardinals would be in for a tumultuous week with key players on both sides of the ball being ruled out with injury. However, on Friday, their opponents in the Jacksonville Jaguars, recently listed a handful of players as inactive for Sunday’s contest.
While the Cardinals will be without Marvin Harrison Jr., who is still recovering from the appendectomy, the Jaguars will also be without their No. 1 wide receiver, Brian Thomas Jr., as the 2024 first-round pick will be sidelined with an ankle injury.
Thomas put up a tremendous rookie campaign, where he hauled in 87 catches for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns. Fast forward to 2025, and Thomas has yet to replicate his success from the previous year. In eight games, he has 30 catches for 420 yards and only a single touchdown.
While he hasn’t been as impactful this season, he still holds the ability to put up big games. With Arizona’s secondary being shorthanded, his absence is huge when it comes to their chances of winning.
The second key absence is on the other side of the ball, as fourth-year pass rusher Travon Walker is inactive due to a knee injury he suffered last weekend in the team’s 35–6 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Paired with Josh Hines-Allen on the other side, Walker has posted 20 total tackles with 2.5 sacks. While he doesn’t specialize in getting to the quarterback, his presence paves the way for others to do the honors.
