Whether or not the Broncos and Russell Wilson are with each other in 2024, it is hard to imagine a world where they are together beyond next season. However, head coach Sean Payton will have the chance to acquire a quarterback and build them up into what he wants. The Broncos are going to need to get someone who can compete in the AFC West that has Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert.
The Broncos front office is going to take Payton’s side on roster development and trust what he can do with the quarterback position. Even though the Broncos have a lot more holes on the roster than what fans might realize, getting a franchise quarterback within Payton’s second year is crucial to see the franchise turn around for the better. With what they have been through the last two seasons, Payton will be looking to bring stability to the most important position for the Broncos.
