We are officially down to two teams in the 2025 head coaching carousel, those being the Arizona Cardinals and the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Cleveland Browns hired former Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator, Todd Monken, on Wednesday morning.
On Tuesday, the Buffalo Bills officially promoted offensive coordinator Joe Brady to head coach after firing Sean McDermott a little more than a week ago.
The Browns and Bills join the New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans, and Pittsburgh Steelers as teams to make an official decision on their future regarding their next head coaches. The next step for them…assembling their staff and creating an outline for free agency and draft.
Insiders around the NFL have hinted at what the Cardinals plan on doing, and that is hiring the Los Angeles Rams’ offensive coordinator, Mike LaFleur.
The brother of Green Bay Packers’ head coach, Matt LaFleur, Mike, was brought in for a second interview by Arizona upper management.

If the Cardinals choose to go through with the hire of Mike LaFleur, it should give fans hope about the trajectory of the franchise.
To begin, LaFleur comes from the Sean McVay coaching tree, and that has panned out very well for other teams.
Secondly, the Cardinals have so many tools on offense for LaFleur to work with. From the league’s best tight end, Trey McBride, to a pair of wide receivers in Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson. There is plenty to be excited about for head coaching candidates. The only unknown is who will be the team’s quarterback.
As it stands, only two more head coaching vacancies remain, and its going to be a matter of what job is more attractive to different candidates.
It seems though as if the Cardinals have a head start on the Raiders.
