Super Bowl XLIII: Day one in Tampa

A small sample of what was being said Monday as both the Cardinals and Steelers showed up in Tampa to start Super Bowl week.

Mark Maske from the Washington Post says don’t expect Coach Ken Whisenhunt to bite on any stories on him looking out for revenge on his old team.

Good for him.  Whisenhunt is grateful for the Steelers organization for giving him an opportunity, but he will be the last one to talk about any advantages he may have because of coaching the Steelers previously.  He also will deny wanting any revenge for not choosing him as Bill Cowher’s replacement.

Gene Wojciechowski of ESPN.com says the Cardinals participation in Super Bowl XLIII is not a fluke.

Aww c’mon Wojo!  You’re the same guy who said two weeks ago the Cards had no chance at beating the Eagles.  Seriously though, it is a good piece on the Cardinals finding the unlikeliest of stars in the unlikeliest of places.

Doug Cook of The Daily Courier (Prescott, AZ) detailed how Prescott area fans got together this past Saturday to show their support by signing a banner.

See, that’s why they call them the Arizona Cardinals.  They truly are loved throughout the state.  This just isn’t Phoenix’s, Glendale’s, or Tempe’s team, they are Arizona’s team.

Go Cardinals!
