Ring Around the Receivers

Quite a busy day for the Arizona Cardinals at the wide receiver position.

They started the day by cutting Lance Long.  This was a move I wasn’t too surprised at.  Long, who I thought would be cut a couple of weeks ago on the final preseason roster cut, was let go after a less than memorable game on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. He looked lost at time and dropped some very catchable passes.  Long was later picked up by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Anquan Boldin is still nursing his injury and said he was not 100% but feeling better.  If not for Steve Breaston, he would probably have sat out Sunday’s game, but now even though he is still hurt, he will probably play on Sunday at the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Speaking of Breaston, he was again out of today’s practice.  It’s amazing to me he was able to play in Denver in the last preseason game, practice all of last week, and now all of a sudden is again hobbled and unable to practice or play.  His status for Sunday is still unclear.
