I have to admit, I did see the San Francisco 49’ers having a great shot of getting to New Orleans for Super Bowl XLVII.  I had them or the Atlanta Falcons representing the NFC.  As for the AFC, I did not see the Baltimore Ravens coming, especially the way they were spiraling at 9-4 with three games left, having just replaced their offensive coordinator.  Well, as we learned with the Arizona Cardinals, a hot team in the playoffs is a hard train to stop.

What has been surprising is that the Ravens have done it with offense and defense.  The offense has been impressive.  Quarterback Joe Flacco has been impressive.  All Ray Lewis jokes aside, it has been a nice final run for him as the linebacker approaches retirement.  Running back Ray Rice has been well, Ray Rice.  Receiver Anquan Boldin has been fantastic.  He still plays at a high level.

Then there are the Niners.  They’ve had a nice run with second-year quarterback Colin Kaepernick.  He has played very well and can run with the best of them.  Aside from the fact I don’t like the Niners, I still think there is something about this Ravens team that has the term destiny standing close by.

So, it’s prediction time.  It will most likely be a close game.  I do see both teams scoring some points though, even given the defenses at hand.  So here it is, enjoy the game!  Baltimore 29 San Francisco 24
