The Arizona Cardinals and the NFL announced a new policy for bringing bags and other items into games this season a few weeks ago.  This new policy will be in effect for not only regular season games but preseason games as well.  We are now less than four weeks away from the first home preseason game for the Cards.

As many of you know, there has already been tight security as you walk into University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale prior to games.  Well, it got stricter.  It is important to know much of the new policy was based on feedback from the fans themselves, so don’t go around complaining when you are subject to search when you walk into the first home preseason game August 17th against the Dallas Cowboys.

The idea was to provide a safer environment for players and fans.  An important note is there are no changes to the tailgating rules out in the parking lot, which I’m sure, like me, was one of the first questions people asked.

Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, luggage of any kind, seat cushions, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size.

Really all you are going to be able to carry in is what fits in a small clear bag.  I’ve provided a link to the new rules here.
