Arizona Cardinals Fans Give Up Too Easily

I’ll admit, early on in my years as an Arizona Cardinals fan, it was easy to get down early on the Cards.  It still is.  Their play doesn’t make it easy.  I even told a friend online during last week’s game that this team probably wouldn’t win another game.  Of course it was just a “I’m pissed off” comment.  I quickly realized, there is still plenty to play for and if the team that came out and beat Detroit and Carolina, this team can and will win more games this season.

What is amazing to me though is how quickly fans give up.  They want to see Drew Stanton – now.  They want to trade Larry Fitzgerald – now.  They want to fire Bruce Arians – now.  Stop – now!  I know we got spoiled in the Kurt Warner years.  Of course I still see the comments on him too.  People still want him to come out of retirement.  Even St. Louis Rams fans were calling for him this week as their team called the retired Brett Favre.

There is no need to throw in the towel yet.  I’m not saying there isn’t a high probability of this team ending up with a losing record and missing the playoffs for the fourth straight season.  What I am saying, what good will all those requests you make do you know if you want the team to win now?  The answer?  No good.

Sure, it’s taken longer for the offense to grasp Arians’ offensive playbook.  Even he thought they would have grasped it by now.  Sure, quarterback Carson Palmer isn’t the answer but he is the better option than Ryan Lindley or even Stanton.  This team very well not do as well as expected in these next three games but honestly they are all games the Cards are capable of winning and making any of those moves mentioned earlier ensures few or no more wins this season.
