Arizona Cardinals Should Worry About Texans Pass Rush

Watching the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football one thing is clear about next week’s game for the Arizona Cardinals.  They are going to have to study the Texans pass rush.  While the Texans offense has been moving the ball pretty well tonight against the Indianapolis Colts, it is the defensive pressure they are getting that is causing eyes to open.

Of course the main guy to watch is defensive end J.J. Watt.  The man is a monster.  I’m not sure there is anyone on the Cards offensive line that will be able to stop him, at least consistently.  Defensive end Antonio Smith, formerly of the Cards, also is a force to be dealt with.  Then there is linebacker Joe Mays.  The Texans defense could end up with a field day against the Cards offensive line and quarterback Carson Palmer.

Although they have three sacks before halftime tonight, they’ve had pressure on Luck most of the night so far.  This is just the defense I’m talking about right now too.  I will probably have to discuss this Texans offense at some point as well.  For now though, I’m impressed with the job the Texans are doing defensively against Andrew Luck and the Colts offense.  We could be in for a long afternoon next Sunday at University of Phoenix Stadium.
