The Arizona Cardinals have found their way onto some people’s radar this week after their impressive win over the Indianapolis Colts.  They have conquered the likes of Matt Ryan and Andrew Luck over the past month.  They dominated Cam Newton earlier in the season.  They held Matthew Stafford in check.  Now they face probably their biggest test of the season to date.  They have to face Philadelphia Eagles and former University of Arizona quarterback Nick Foles.

Foles is having a fantastic season, spelling former starter Michael Vick, whom Foles replaced due to injury earlier in the season.  To say Foles is having a fantastic season is sort of an understatement though.  He has 16 touchdowns and no interceptions.  That’s right – ZERO interceptions.  He also still has a shot to finish the season with the highest quarterback rating ever.  There is still a lot of football left to be played of course, however you can see my point here.  Foles will not be easy to take to task.  Who thought we would be saying that in week 13 of this season?

Now, this doesn’t mean the Cards defense can’t get to Foles or can’t be the first team to make him turn the ball over.  This Cards defense has a propensity to make good quarterbacks do that.  It will be interesting to see how the Cards defend the Eagles offense.  The Eagles are one of those teams that can light it up quickly but they can also keep it low scoring as well.  They scored 3 and 17 respectively at home to the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants last month.  Then they put up 49 on the Oakland Raiders and 27 on the Green Bay Packers.

I guarantee the Cards are not taking Foles or the Eagles lightly.  Is it wrong of me to kind of wish Michael Vick was starting this one?  The Cards have had his number lately.  Foles can throw the deep ball and accurately.  He’s not a Vick by any stretch running the ball but he can hold his own, so you have to watch for that too.  He ran one in a couple of weeks ago against the Washington Redskins.  We are just two days until the fun begins.
