It seemed like forever.  However on Sunday, Arizona Cardinals number one receiver Larry Fitzgerald was finally targeted like he was just that – number one.  I know the Cards have been trying to get him involved as much as possible because let’s face it, there is nothing better than when you can get the ball to number 11 and see him make plays.

On Sunday, in the 30-10 win over the St. Louis Rams, Fitz was targeted 12 times.  That is a ton compared to what we’ve grown accustomed to seeing over the past few seasons, including parts of this one.  Fitz ended up catching 12 of his 14 targets.  That’s money.  He had another touchdown, giving him nine in 2013.  He had all of four last season.

This is a far cry from earlier in the season when some fans wanted Fitz traded while he still had value.  I believe that chatter came about right before the trade deadline right after losses to division rivals San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.  Yes, he had value then and still does even more so now.  He proved, once again, the value he brings to the Cardinals.  The Cards are going to need every bit of Fitz over the next three weeks as they make a playoff push.  As you see, when Fitz gets the ball, good things usually happen.
