At this time tomorrow you can toss all those mock drafts and you can find out just how far off all of us were when the Arizona Cardinals select Johnny Manziel in the first round after trading up.  Every year there seems to be a shock.  Now seriously, we will get to see if the Cards hold onto their pick at number 20 or if they trade out of the spot.

The 2014 NFL Draft is now less than 24 hours until the first pick is made.  I’m not even sure the Houston Texans are completely sold on what they are going to do at number one.  They may have a good idea but the way this draft is shaping up, just about anything can happen.  I will spend the whole night expecting the unexpected.   If the first round goes even close to any of my predictions, I will be amazed.

That being said, I see the Cards taking Ryan Shazier, linebacker from Ohio State.  I’ve chronicled in previous posts as to why I think he’s the guy if he’s still on the board.  I still think he’s the guy despite the signing of veteran linebacker Larry Foote yesterday.  As I’ve said many times, the linebacker position is one that had quite the revolving door in 2013.  I truly believe the Cards are going to do everything to keep that from happening again.  Of course you also have the uncertainty of Daryl Washington’s status as well.   Should be a fun 24 hours.
