So much for what 10-6 and improving on your squad after that season does for you.  It still gets the Arizona Cardinals ranked 16th in the NFL and fourth in their division alone.  To be ranked 16th in the NFL isn’t all that ridiculous but to be ranked four spots behind the St. Louis Rams?  Well, that’s what ESPN thinks in their future rankings they released this past week.

They noted the Cardinals improvement in each area except they were worried about the quarterback position in the future.  I don’t buy it.  I still think the Cards are in a better position for the future than the Rams.  Palmer is under contract just for this season but the Cards aren’t going into this without a plan.  Sure, there is some uncertainty about what rookie Logan Thomas can provide and what they do in the 2015 draft in regards to the position.  However the Rams have a beat up Sam Bradford who can’t seem to stay healthy.

The Cards defense is young and stacked.  They will be good in 2014 and probably great over the next couple of seasons after that.  As for the offense, yes, we don’t know what will happen to receiver Larry Fitzgerald, however Michael Floyd has blossomed and they have a few really good young potential stars at the position over the next couple of years.

It’s all good debate though.  Until the Cards prove they can put this product in the playoffs, they will still lack respect.  The Rams though?  What have they done?  C’mon ESPN.
