Arizona Cardinals Roster Profile: Walt Powell

As the Arizona Cardinals are in preparation for the season with training camp now in full swing in Glendale at University of Phoenix Stadium, we are going to take a look at the team roster from A to Z as it currently stands.  Next up is wide receiver Walt Powell.

2013 season: Murray State wide receiver

2014 season: Drafted in the sixth-round of this year’s draft (196th overall).  His speed doesn’t blow you away but nfl.com scouts him as being quick off the ball and having good balance but he is thin.  Another concern is his blocking.  We all know how Cards head coach Bruce Arians feels about blocking.  If you are a receiver on this team, you need to not only know how to catch a ball, you need to excel at blocking as well.  I can’t see him overtaking either of the Brown’s, Jaron or John, or Brittan Golden on the depth chart.  I will say practice squad at best for him for now.
