Former Arizona Cardinals and St. Louis Rams cornerback Aeneas Williams enters the Pro Football Hall of Fame this weekend in Canton, Ohio.  It is a selection that Williams hasn’t had to wait too long for since his playing days ended in 2004.  It was a selection that I knew would come soon though.  He just barely missed it last year.

A look at Williams career:

  • Four-time First-Team All-Pro and one time Second-Team All-Pro
  • Eight time Pro Bowler
  • 795 career tackles
  • 55 career interceptions
  • 9 career touchdowns

Williams was a gifted player but in my estimation an even greater person.  To this day still my favorite interview because he was more interested in me and what this Cards fan site did than what he did in his playing days.  One thing he is proud of is his work with God.  He is a pastor of his church in St. Louis.  To me, you get the initial votes because of your play on the field but I truly believe you get voted in at the end because of the person you are.  Williams will always be my favorite corner and one of my favorite former Cards players.
