As the Arizona Cardinals are in preparation for the season with training camp now in full swing in Glendale at University of Phoenix Stadium, we are taking a look at the team roster from A to Z as it currently stands.  Next up is inside linebacker Ernie Sims.

2013 season: Sims played in 12 games last season with the Dallas Cowboys.  He started six of them.  He has not started a full season since 2008 with the Detroit Lions.  He had 42 tackles and one fumble recovery last season.

2014 season: Sims didn’t exactly blow the world away with his signing in Arizona in the off-season.  Many saw it as a desperate move.  It seems as if it was more a move to fill a need.  I don’t know if there was any more experience they could’ve gotten at the time so I can’t blame the Cards for making the move.  My biggest concern is he seems to be on a downslope.  He started all 16 games in his first three seasons with the Lions and then started 15 of the 15 games he played in for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2010.  He hasn’t come close to his early production over the past three seasons.
