The Arizona Cardinals added a wide receiver to their practice squad on Tuesday.  They added receiver Kevin Cone, who was with the Miami Dolphins in the preseason.

Cone, who was with the Atlanta Falcons since entering the NFL, catching one pass for 12 yards, was signed by the Dolphins back in April. He spent the entire preseason with them.  He ended up catching six passes for 59 yards.  His longest reception went for 21 yards. He is in his fourth season out of Georgia Tech.

The addition of Cone probably wouldn’t have come had the Cards been able to re-sign receiver Walt Powell to the practice squad.  Powell, originally on the 53-man roster on Saturday, was waived on Sunday to make room for linebacker Thomas Keiser from the San Diego Chargers.  Powell though was signed by the New York Jets after clearing waivers.

The addition leaves the Cards now with one open spot on the practice squad.  I would not be surprised to see that spot filled before the end of the week.
