Defense was the name of the game in the second quarter.  The Arizona Cardinals defense came up with a huge interception of New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning in the first quarter but then got a huge sack on the next Giants drive in the second quarter to end a threat.  A couple of plays earlier they had apparently stopped the Giants with a fumble but the call was overturned by a ridiculous illegal contact penalty.

The Giants did find a rhythm towards the end of the half and ended up getting into the end zone.  Manning has had his struggles but he is still a quarterback that can sling it and move the ball at times.  He proved that with the touchdown drive.

The Cards biggest surprise on offense has been the conversion of third downs.  The Cards converted four of six third downs.  They missed one of them by a yard and the other one they didn’t convert they ended up with the field goal by kicker Chandler Catanzaro.

Cardinals quarterback Drew Stanton is 9-16 for 115 yards.  Running back Andre Ellington has carried five times for 40 yards.  Running back Jonathan Dwyer carried the ball seven times for 28 yards.
